Free Practice
The same twister library as Warm Up, with the clock removed and the filters handed to you. Pick the difficulty levels and the sound groups you actually struggle with, and stay on each phrase as long as you like.

Why it works
A warm-up serves the whole mouth; free practice serves one problem. If your /r/ collapses or your sibilants whistle, drilling a random mix wastes most of the reps — so this mode lets you aim them.
Target sounds
Sound groups are selectable, so you can spend a whole session on the cluster that keeps tripping you rather than meeting it once every twenty cards.
Hear it first
Each twister can be played back before you say it, so you are copying a model rather than guessing at one.
Your own pace
No timer and no forced advance. You tap the card when you are done with it — repetition on a phrase you have not mastered is the point.
Step by step
- 1
Choose difficulty levels and, optionally, the sound groups you want to target.
- 2
Listen to how the twister should sound, then say it out loud.
- 3
Tap the card to move on whenever you are ready — there is no clock.
- 4
Record the session if you want a coach review; practising without recording is fine.
What gets measured
Like Warm Up, Free Practice has no local task score. The session length, the difficulty mix and the number of repetitions are all yours to choose, which is exactly what makes a single comparable number impossible — two sessions are not the same exercise.
No deterministic overall — by design
Words per minute
measuredRecorded when you record, so the articulation-rate trend still gets a data point.
Details worth knowing
- Free Practice sessions never enter the 0–100 trend on Progress; they do count toward practice minutes and your streak.
What the AI adds
A recorded session is reviewed as an articulation drill:
Verbatim transcription, with slurs and restarts preserved rather than corrected.
Per-phoneme-group articulation scores with the words they were judged from — useful precisely because you chose the group.
Tap-to-hear drill words for anything mispronounced.
